Is Your Dry Shampoo Safe?
Important information regarding the recent recall.
As you are probably aware, there was a recent recall of several popular dry shampoo brands due to potential concerns that they may contain the cancer-causing substance, Benzene. While this is a voluntary recall from the New Jersey-based company, Unilever, you should immediately stop using the dry shampoo if you have an affected product. See their official statement →
The recall applies to select lot codes of dry shampoo aerosol products by the following brands produced prior to October 2021:
- TIGI (Rockaholic and Bed Head)

If this sounds familiar, it is. In Dec. of 2021, Proctor & Gamble issued a voluntary product recall for aerosol dry conditioner spray products and aerosol dry shampoo spray products produced in the US from Pantene, Aussie, Herbal Essences, and Waterless. Prior to that, aerosol dry shampoo products were discontinued from Old Spice and Hair Food, due to the presence of benzene detected in some products.
